Av Sales Group consists of an experienced team of aviation professionals.  Each of our associates has years of aviation experience crossing into many different disciplines.

Brian Borens (Vice President of Sales) - Brian has been immersed in aviation since 1989. His love of aircraft developed while serving with the United States Air Force as an avionics technician on F-111 aircraft. Intense training and years of on wing experience helped develop his technical skills and an eye for detail. During his time in service Brian received several Letters of Achievement and was awarded Airman of the year. While deployed in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm he developed an inventory system to help track tooling and aircraft spare parts for the entire fighter wing. After his military service Brian looked to continue his aviation career. He moved to California to work for one of the country's oldest aircraft spares companies at the time, Airmotive Inc. While with Airmotive Brian was responsible for customer development, travel, account management and spares purchasing for clients such as Finnair, SAS, Volvo Aero Engines, Cross Air and Swiss Air Technics to name a few. Brian was then recruited by International Airline Support Group (IASG) and relocated to Miami, Florida. While with IASG Brian was again responsible for sales, travel and the business development of several aircraft operators including Cebu Pacific in the Philippines being one of the largest accounts. Later, Brian was then tasked to with the development of a commuter and regional division within IASG. This was accomplished by the means of inventory purchases, airline consignment and aircraft teardowns. IASG went on to becoming a major supplier to global, regional operators of the EMB-120, Dash 8, Beech 1900 and ATR42 aircraft. Brian was responsible for the development and managing of several major clients such as Skywest, Regional Airlines, Continental Connection, Corporate Air, ASA, Ameriflight and Empire. After the wind down of IASG Brian was then recruited to come on board with Magellan Aircraft Services in Boca Raton, Florida. Now responsible for the development of a regional/commuter part sales division Brian started with the dismantle of two Ex-Alitalia Dash8-Q300 aircraft (the first Q300's in the industry to be dismantled) Brian and his team established part sales, storage and repair management services for several commuter operators including Piedmont Airlines, Voyageur Airways, Air Creebec, Island Air and Horizon Air amongst others. Several years later Magellan relocated from Boca to Charlotte, NC and due to family logistics Brian could not follow. Brian was contacted and hired by Av Sales Group / Asset Conversion Services in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is responsible for business development, parts sales/procurement and repair management for operators worldwide. Brian has assisted with several aircraft transactions and with the operational support of those aircraft. In a new facility on Ft. Lauderdale Executive airport he continues to look for ways to develop new business, diversify inventory, and generate new revenue streams.

Jerry Frederick (President) – Since 1987, Mr. Frederick has been involved in every aspect of aviation sales, information, and management. While in college Mr. Frederick developed a least cost routing algorithm for Metromedia, the predecessor of MCI / WorldCom. After college he starting work at aviation information technology startup General DataMax, Mr. Frederick was instrumental in a request for proposal from Boeing to develop a format for their forthcoming Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) on Optical Drive. He worked on a proprietary algorithm that used a vector format for images saving 90% of the disk space over a raster format. Moving to IASG in the late 1980's, Mr. Frederick worked in all aspects of the organization, from financial controller to administrative and operations management. While at IASG he developed one of the first inventory bar code systems for aviation parts using off the shelf Intermec equipment. He wrote and developed one of the first Windows based Inventory management software systems Automated Aviation Material Management (AAMM), in Superbase and subsequently migrated it to the first version of Microsoft Access in 1992. This program is still in use today at several aviation aftermarket companies. He was instrumental in the modification and customization of SYMEX for a commercial heavy check facility. The software featured a barcode system for all labor and materials. The system supported a workforce of over 100 mechanics and tracked both productive and nonproductive time. Mr. Frederick developed a material clearinghouse system for the industrial power generation industry. The system, http://www.ursmart.net, enabled the IPG industry to pool and list items available for sale or lease worldwide. Mr. Frederick developed customized database tools for Starman Auction Services which enabled the capture of auction pricing on machinery, equipment, tools, and parts. He created an Internet alternative to the ILS in 1995, Internet Parts Locator Systems (IPLS). He rewrote the C.A.S.E. database for the world's major airlines that allows quality control personnel from around the globe to pool their resources, saving the industry millions of dollars a year. Mr. Frederick graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a BS in Computer Science.

Mario Jordan (Manager of Q/C and Sales) - Increasing responsibilities in the Commercial and Regional aircraft parts aftermarket in position within shipping, receiving, sales, and management have marked Mario's twenty-five year aviation career. He began at Bet-Air, Inc in July of 1987 and continued to be promoted progressively throughout the organization. Bet-Air was the premier aviation aftermarket company of the late 1980's early 1990's with consignment material from British Airways, Lufthansa, Britannia, KLM royal Dutch Airlines, Rolls Royce, and TWA. Mario was initially responsible for the induction of the consignment material and helped develop processes to streamline their receipt. At Bet-Air Mario moved into the Quality control position and was instrumental in the development of processes that ensured that material leaving the warehouse was properly classified and met the specific requirements of each customer. Mario moved to IASG in 2000 and worked in purchasing and sales for a EMB-120 cargo carrier. He was responsible for all rotable and expendable material for the airline and ensured that all critical flight items were handled. After the events of September 2001 he moved into the sales department and was tasked with sales of commercial and regional aircraft material. Since 2003, Mario has been employed by Av Sales Group and is the lead inside sales manager and quality control supervisor.

Richard Hidir (Operations) – began his aviation career in 1990 when he joined International Airline Support Group. He arrived from Seagate Technologies where he worked as a senior electronic technician in a "clean room" environment staging and repairing computer hard drives. While at Seagate Richard was assigned to a room that had repaired drives with a subsequent failure rate exceeding 50%. Within weeks of being assigned to the new room Richard's team identified the process problem and was able to reduce the failure rate to less than 10%. Shortly after joining International Airline Support Group, Richard helped to rein in an out of control inventory system by working with inventory control personnel to completely reconfigure the existing system. He was instrumental in the IS management of an FBO, working closely with management to create reports and make software changes that streamlined the process of recording productive and non-productive time. When the FBO was caught in the liquidity trap of 2001 he took on the task of working with creditors in a non bankruptcy scenario, allocating the remaining funds to pay off debt at 52 cents on the dollar. Richard was in charge of a recertification effort of a large Texas based aviation inventory. This process used a custom program to manage the work of four DAR's for a period of nine months and successfully recertified over 40,000 parts. After the successful wind down of International Airline Support in 2003 Richard became a key component of Av Sales Group and is involved in every aspect of the organization. Most recently he developed an automated ILS quoting component that saves the organization hundreds of hours each month.

Charles "Greg" Revel (Manager Inventory Control / Logistics) – started his career at Aviation Sales in 1986 and stayed on until the General Electric buyout of 1999. During the 1980's and 1990's Aviation Sales was a worldwide leader in the aviation aftermarket. While employed at Aviation Sales Greg started in the receiving department and quickly moved throughout the organization from inventory control, to quality control, to sales representative and ultimately to senior sales representative of an over 150 million dollar worldwide business. He moved to IASG in 1999 and brought a new level of professionalism to the sales department. He handled the inside sales department and was responsible for a team that answered and followed up on all ILS requests via phone, fax, and email. After the wind down, Greg worked for a short period at Strider Aviation until taking a job in customer service at Avborne Accessory Group, a major FAA 145 repair shop. Most recently Greg worked as a senior sales representative for Saywell a major international distributor of aviation material. Greg brings his vast experience to every level of the organization.
